Application of PVA biodegradable film in pesticide packaging
Pesticides are substances that are meant to control pests, including weeds. The term pesticide includes all of the following: herbicide, insecticides (which may include insect growth regulators, termiticides, etc.) nematicide, molluscicide, piscicide, avicide, rodenticide, bactericide, insect repellent, animal repellent, antimicrobial, and fungicide. The most common of these are herbicides which account for approximately 80% of all pesticide use.
Packaging machinery supplier shares that most pesticides are intended to serve as plant protection products (also known as crop protection products), which in general, protect plants from weeds, fungi, or insects. For example, they are used to kill mosquitoes that can transmit potentially deadly diseases like West Nile virus, yellow fever, and malaria. They can also kill bees, wasps or ants that can cause allergic reactions. Insecticides can protect animals from illnesses that can be caused by parasites such as fleas. Pesticides can prevent sickness in humans that could be caused by moldy food or diseased produce. Herbicides can be used to clear roadside weeds, trees, and brush. They can also kill invasive weeds that may cause environmental damage. Herbicides are commonly applied in ponds and lakes to control algae and plants such as water grasses that can interfere with activities like swimming and fishing and cause the water to look or smell unpleasant. Uncontrolled pests such as termites and mold can damage structures such as houses. Pesticides are used in grocery stores and food storage facilities to manage rodents and insects that infest food such as grain. Each use of a pesticide carries some associated risk.
Therefore, more and more attention has been paid to the packaging of pesticides, pesticide packaging machine is widely used. Because of the wide use of pesticides, packaging materials can not be recycled, and packaging materials should not pollute the environment, biodegradable films are used more and more widely in the field of pesticide packaging, especially PVA water-soluble films. Water-soluble film is a kind of film which can dissolve in water at room temperature. It is a novel green packaging material.
At present, the use of PVA biodegradable film in automatic packaging machine is concentrated on the use of small sachet bags. 5g-50g is the popular weight at present. It can be directly put into fish ponds, farmland and so on. For large bags, PVA biodegradable film is generally not used, but ordinary packaging materials are used.
PVA biodegradable packaging film has good heat sealing property, The heat sealing strength is related to temperature, humidity, pressure, time and other conditions, generally greater than 200 g/cm2. So the sealing temperature doesn’t need high temperature, at the same time, the sealing block needs Teflon non-stick tape, and the temperature needs careful adjustment by engineers to achieve the best sealing effect. Because of the particularity of this film, the applicable temperature range is smaller than that of ordinary film.
At present, Newidea Packing Machinery has successfully served more than 50 pesticide industry customers and accumulated rich packaging experience.
